> For air pollution, just get a good HEPA filter.

Not sure that's ideal: https://forum.effectivealtruism.org/posts/8BEqanpJFGhisETBi/better-air-purifiers says "The most glaring problem is the widespread use of HEPA filters. These are very effective filters that, unavoidably, offer significant resistance to air flow. HEPA is a great option for filtering air in single pass, such as with an outdoor air intake or a biosafety cabinet, but it's the wrong set of tradeoffs for cleaning the air that's already in the room."

Regarding CO2 levels: there is research to show that high levels are harmful, starting around 1500ppm, but now sure how well it replicates. Many people were wearing KN95 masks during covid, and KN95 wearers have been shown to be breathing 20,000ppm CO2 concentrations (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1186/s12879-021-06056-0)

If >5000ppm is considered hazardous, yet people were wearing KN95s breathing 20,000ppm, you'd expect to see some very obvious health problems there. Either they were experiencing those, and maybe blamed them on long covid or something, or the research showing serious harm at 5000ppm has to be wrong.

hmm.. a study paid for by the maker of that justair mask showing that the justair mask is great with 11 participants.

It's of course reasonable that CO2 levels will go up. Same for badly ventilated rooms, public transport, ... The point here is less that it will have lasting effects on your health but that it affects your performance / focus / productivity in the moment. And from what I found that seems to be solid scientifically.

Very possible. Which is why some people really hated wearing masks, and why forcing kids to wear masks eight hours a day was a crime against humanity. And their test scores did crater.
